Gourmet Burger Co. was quite similar to Craft, similar ordering system (pick your burger, condiments, add-on toppings) and was setup with elbow-to-elbow tables with high-seated counter strips (minus the booth areas at Craft).

My friend and I managed to beat the lunch rush. By the time we were seated with our burgers, there were no seats left and the place was packed due to the lineup.

I quickly ordered the Spicy Cajun Burger because of the ingredients provided. =999
Personally, i thought it was slightly better than Craft, maybe it’s the toppings offered!
The burger was not too spicy. i liked the different toppings of each bite. It was fresh and tasted really delicious!

My friend ordered the GBC Burger Combo with (lots of) Fries.
According to my friend, “One thing about GBC that really stands out is all the toppings they offer. Not only do they offer a wide variety of gourmet toppings, but a lot of them are complimentary. [which i totally agree]. The complimentary toppings include: lettuce, tomatoes, sautéed mushrooms, balsamic marinated caramelized onions, red onions, roasted red peppers, beets, avocado, jalapeños, pickles and relish”. basically, you can have A LOT OF STUFF in that burger!
As you can see, this burger was the size of my hand since my greedy friend got ALL of it! HUGE!

“…The caramelized onions, mushrooms and roasted red peppers were soft and juicy. But my favourite was definitely the pickled beets… GBC did a great job of putting the burger together so that there would be a nice balance of flavour in each bite. I noticed that different toppings were placed in slightly different regions of the burger so that I would taste something slightly different with each bite. However, due to the sheer amount of toppings, the burger obviously got a bit messy at the end, but that’s what forks are for.”

My friend found the beef patty at Craft to be a lot juicier because it was cooked to medium with little pink left inside and GBC was a bit too well done, leaving it drier. But as I’m not such a huge burger fan, i didn’t mind the drier patty from GBC (less juice = less mess!) and i do agree with him that the toppings at GBC were SUPERIOR! and a a wider selection that i liked!

At the end of the day, I’m indifferent with the two burger places. 🙂
