Another summerlicious post. Heard a number of bad comments for Jump before so this place was not really ever on my radar until I wanted to have a lunch date with my friend so we picked Jump, that was close to her workplace and considering their $20 lunch menu.
Upon arrival, we got seated in the patio of our choice, sunny and breezy underneath the skyscrapers. We told the waiter that we’re on a tight schedule and asked if we can have our food quicker, in which they nicely accommodated. We managed to finish our meal within 75 mins (from sitting to getting our bills)!
Chilled Tomato Gazpacho with shrimp salsa, cilantro chili crema and garlic crouton.
This soup was super good! Went so well with the patio weather and sunshine. It was served cold; not too saucy like a cocktail shrimp dip nor too watery like a salsa dip. It was definitely a “appetizer”.
Peekytoe Crab Cake – cucumber dill salad and Creole rémoulade sauce
The crabcake was quite nicely done as well. I especially liked the cucumber dill salad on the side.
Grilled Top Sirloin Fettina – pickled wild mushroom and Ontario asparagus salad, aged Fontina and truffle jus.
The sirloin fettina was a lot thinner than I thought. I didn’t find it too spectacular but I did like the sauce and mushrooms with it. Nothing too amazing but portion was great.
Grilled Jail Island Salmon – fire roasted summer corn and butter bean succotash salad, watercress and ramp ranch crème fraîche.
My friend had commented that it was cooked really well. Not too try and seasoning was good.
Amaretto Chocolate Marquise Cake – chocolate butter toffee crunch.
My friend didn’t finish this, she said it was too chocolatey… too rich basically.
Butterscotch Panna Cotta – salted caramel, vanilla and spice sweet cream.
Will probably revisit again for summerlicious but probably not for normal regular dinners.
